- Can I bring my own camera?
-
Yes, personal cameras are welcome.
Our photographers and staff will help you take as much photos as you like.
- What do I need to bring for my makeover?
-
Nothing! Everything for your makeover (undergarments, socks, towels, makeup cleansing cream) will be provided at the studios. If you usually wear makeup, it might be better if you bring your own makeup so that you can put it on after you wash away the makeover makeup. Another suggestion: Don't forget your camera!
- Is there a place where I can wash myself?
-
Yes. We have a special room for you to wash away the makeover makeup. Hair dryers are also available, so you can continue your sightseeing after everything is over. Since the traditional white makeup will not wash off with normal water, our staff will help you until all the makeup is completely off.
- How long would it take altogether?
-
About 1.5 hours for 1-2 persons, 2 hours for 3-4 persons, 2.5 hours for 5-8 persons. You would need extra 30-40 minutes if you choose the plan with a walk outside. (The time mentioned here is the whole time required; from the moment you arrive at our studio until you leave.)
- Can I go outside in my Maiko makeover?
-
For Kiyomizudera and Gion Studio, we have a plan that you can take a walk outside. You can decide if you want to take a walk or not when you arrive at the studio.
At Kiyomizudera Studio, you can have a 50-minute walk after your photo shootings inside our studio. (12,500 yen)
- Is there any age limit for the makeover?
-
No, anyone from ages 5 to 90 can get a makeover. Many of our customers come together in pairs such as Mother & Daughter and Grandma & Granddaughter. We have a special plan in a special low price for customers in a mother-daughter pair.
- I'm rather tall・・・would the kimonos fit me?
-
Don't worry; we have a variety of kimonos, from children's size to size 19 in Japan (about the same as size 20 in the U.S.A.)
- Tell me more about the 'Kimono Walking' plan.
-
This plan is only available at Kyoto Eki-mae Head Studio. Choose a kimono and go out for sightseeing or shopping in your Japanese outfit! You can stay in your kimono as long as you like between 10:00am and 8:00pm. The customers who choose this plan will be asked to bring their own etabif (Japanese socks for kimono) or purchase them at the studio for 1,000 yen.
- Can I have the photographic negatives?
-
Yes. For those who are interested, we will put all of your photos (20 cuts) in a CD-R for 2,500 yen. With this CD-R, you can have your photos printed at your local photo shop, or print them at home!
